YU Library Book Talk | Speaking to an Empty Shul: Timeless Lesson from Unprecedented Times Online
On March 11, 2020, due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the decision was made to shut down Jewish communal life in Bergen County. Chronicling the weekly sermons that were delivered remotely to Congregation Ahavat Shalom in Teaneck, Rabbi Yehuda Halpert traces the adversity endured during the lockdown, as well as the resilience of the community during this unprecedented time. He will discuss the impact COVID has had even 5 years later. The conversation will be moderated by Max Landesman, co-host of the Good for Shidduchim podcast.
Rabbi of Congregation Ahavat Shalom since 2008, Yehuda Halpert is also a practicing attorney and an adjunct professor at the Sy Syms School of Business, where he teaches business ethics and Jewish law.
