YU Library Book Talk | Despite Everything: A Chronicle of Jewish Resilience in the Aftermath of October 7th

YU Library Book Talk | Despite Everything: A Chronicle of Jewish Resilience in the Aftermath of October 7th Online

The IDF commander on business in India who flew back to rejoin his unit in Gaza.

The ambulance driver who wrapped a wounded passenger in his prayer shawl to keep her warm.

The woman who kept her hostage son’s room exactly as he had left it.

Just a sample of those who rose to the challenge.

Join Rabbi Chaim Steinmetz, author of Despite Everything: A Chronicle of Jewish Resilience in the Aftermath of October 7th, who will discuss “the remarkable human beings, both in Israel and America, who have done so much: Heroes who leave their families and risk their lives to protect their country.” After unimaginable calamity, we have the power to rebuild and believe that “we will certainly continue to dance in the future, again and again.”

Rabbi Chaim Steinmetz is Senior Rabbi of Congregation Kehilath Jeshurun in New York City.  He received ordination from RIETS and an M.A. in Jewish Philosophy from the Bernard Revel Graduate School, as well as an M.A. in Education from Adelphi University.
